Tier 2 productions ($30,000 - $125,000) receive between 3 to 4 rounds of revisions, depending on the production budget.
Tier 3 productions ($150,000+) receive a custom number of revisions, which will be agreed upon at the beginning of the project.
A STANDARD PRODUCTION CONTRACT (CONTRACT OF ENGAGEMENT)
A contract of engagement is, at its most basic, a written commitment to deliver services in exchange for payment. It should be noted that this contract must be signed by all clients.
STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)
Provided that a Contract of Engagement may not always be sufficient to cover all of the bases. With corporate clients in particular, a supplemental Statement of Work, or 'SOW,' document is frequently required. These are job-specific and will clearly outline the project's scope.
MASTER SERVICE AGREEMENT (MSA)
Consequently, If we're going to be working on several projects for a single customer over an extended period of time, a Master Service Agreement, or 'MSA,' can help define how that long-term partnership will function.
TALENT RELEASE
Talent releases ensure that our customer has permission to use the actors' footage in the completed video. Even so, they may also require that we, as the producer, utilize the material in promotional pieces (demo reels, websites) and that the talent earn no royalties or residuals.
DEAL MEMO
Deal memos are for personnel, but talent releases are for (obviously) talent. Deal memos are often used for large commercial projects or when employing local crews when filming on location in another city or country. Essentially, the deal memo is essentially a scaled-down version of the Basic Production Contract, except it is between the producer and a single vendor.
NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT (NDA)
Depending on the circumstances, this might come from either side. Importantly, a non-disclosure agreement, or 'NDA,' is a contract that prohibits one party from publicly releasing private information and offers legal remedies for the other party if such privileged information is exposed in breach of the contract. For example, a customer may request that we sign an NDA if we are working with an unreleased product or confidential information.
Chiefly, there should be no 'hidden costs' that occur throughout the course of your project that you are not aware of. To clarify, charges for new features or changes to your project may be added on occasion,. Although, they must be agreed upon by you beforehand. For example, if you no longer like the music in the film and want it changed, you may be charged since we need to acquire additional licensed music, but this would be a conversation rather than a requirement.
Consequently, under no circumstances should your final invoice be higher than what you agreed to in the initial stages of the project without any warning.
The logistics follow. You may sign the contract, pay the deposit, and we'll put you on the books after we've set the production dates.
Moreover, depending on the scope of your project we could have a number of virtual or live meetings before the production begins. In general, the larger and more complex the project, the more meetings will occur. Because conveying your desired outcomes is critical to completing the job to your standards.
